The ancient Greeks would often visit oracles in order to seek the wisdom of the gods. When one decides to descend to the deranged den that is the oracle of Trophonius, curious preparations are required. The inquirer must drink from the fountain of Lethe, which cleanses the mind of all thoughts unrelated to the question to be presented to the oracle. A drink from a second fountain, the fountain of Mnemosyne, allows the seeker to remember what she/he will witness at the oracle. After the draught has been consumed, the descent commences through a chasm deep within the bowels of the mountains. Once the oracle is found and the question is proposed,  the answer is revealed through a series of beguilingly inexplicable experiences, enveloping the seeker in stark madness.
