Éluard Poems is a cycle of love poems by the surrealist poet, Paul Éluard. The poems express the author’s intimate feelings for his wife, Maria Benze. The harmonic language often draws from colors characteristic of early twentieth century French composers. Subtle forms of text painting and ambiguous tonalities permeate the set, while glimmering textures emerge and are momentarily suspended before slowly dissipating.
