The composition portrays the childlike wonder and amusement of playing with bubbles for the first time. The colorful arpeggiated chords imitate streams of bubbles as they are blown into air and left suspended, until the performer pops them. Soft strumming of the high strings inside the piano suggests the bubbles taken away by a breeze. A bright playful theme is woven throughout the piece, constantly interrupted by the bubbles.
